This is the ZinStar vineyard at her apex: vibrant, zesty, and full of promise. This wine displays aromas and a heart full of flavors: wild berry, blackberry, wild and brambly. This is a wine with depth, suppleness and the ability to age gracefully. In 2002, Mother Nature and the little 3.5 acre ZinStar pulled out all the stops, providing a balanced growing season, not too hot and not too cool. To stress the uniqueness of this vintage, yields were less than one ton per acre, or 2.1 pounds per vine! This reserve embodies the elegance we strive for in creating our food friendly Zinfandels - un-blended, 100% Pure Zinfandel from the ZinStar vineyard and aged for 15 months in our traditional selection of barrels from 5 French coopers and 4 years in the bottle.
